Like a Ninja I have been working away in the background and finally I struck without warning - With the long awaited Relaunch of DeathMatch
It is now available for all who want to play that version, settings have been tweaked to make it a faster game in general.
One other change that is all new to DeathMatch is that is now also being used as Omerta\'s first Public Test Server - No longer will new features that worked for our small group of testers during development be put directly into the normal live versions
Instead all new features will first be sent to trail and fine tuning on DeathMatch allowing us to see exactly how they react under proper useage and with help of the DM players tweaked as far as balance and settings
Below is the Welcome news post for the DM version for a more detailed explination
All that is left to say is see you over on DM
---
Welcome to all new Omerta DeathMatch
What makes it all new? Well one thing to begin with that is the VM - ME!
While you may not recognise the name at the moment, in previous versions I have been known as Kaze. What that effectively means is that your version is being run by a developer.
But what does than mean for you?
Well in effect, this version can be compared to a Public Test Server.
In order to improve upon the current arrangement - that we launch things when they have only been tested by a few people (crew and UG, mainly), then we make them live only to (sometimes) discover that they break down when thousands of people are trying to use them at the same moment - I have proposed that Omerta uses the DM game as a live beta version - so here we will showcase any new features or changes which we hope to launch in the other versions.
New features, Major Changes to old ones and even experimental settings changes, they will all be tried out here before going into the live versions. That means that as well as playing a faster version of the game you will be getting access to all the newest features first.
However this means that by playing you will have to accept that things could be changed at a short notice - when possible you will be given some warning but that may not always be possible.
For example if we want to see how the game will play out with more family headquarters with smaller sizes, it will be tried here but naturally we will warn you, so you can wrap up anything in the current families.
Ok then what is different about this version now?
Well you can get a more details explanation Here but to start with
New player titles for family members - based on time in family
Optional Adverts - increased CL for players who display banners (don\'t like them? then turn them off)
Obvious DM based changes - faster ranking etc
What is on the cards for the next changes?
For information on them you can check out the three news items labelled [Discuss]. Threads badged with this are where I want you guys to be involved in the finer details of an idea.
Now by \'involved\' I mean that I hope that you will contribute more than just a simple \'great\' or \'sucks\' statement - if you don\'t like it state clearly why and your remarks will be taken into consideration.
Things open for discussion now are:
Named BodyGuards - the ability customise your bodyguards
Jimmy The Snitch - An all new NPC for the game that will enhance group crimes
Removal of Family Witness Statements - exactly what it says on the tin
----
Well other than that, nothing is left to say other than, off you go you have some ranking to be doing.

Public Test Server... hmmm do we still need to donate to have full access to all omerta features?
If we go to .dm to test but we play .com shouldnt we able to use same donate codes on both versions? Or is it a test server with comercial purpose?

TBH it\'s quite annoying that I have to register first before I can read the articles about for instance Jimmy The Snitch.
I think that you should make a topic where you post the updates that you implement in death match, so the .com players can already prepare themselves if these things get introduced here too.

SOrry those links are directly from the newsitem on DM - if you go to the DM homepage you will be able to access them from there without logging in
